দেবহাটা উপজেলা
দেবহাটা উপজেলা বাংলাদেশের সাতক্ষীরা জেলার অন্তর্গত একটি প্রশাসনিক এলাকা।
সাতক্ষীরা জেলার দক্ষিণ পশ্চিম প্রান্তজুড়ে দেবহাটা উপজেলার অবস্থান। এ উপজেলার উত্তরে সাতক্ষীরা সদর উপজেলা, দক্ষিণে ঝিনাইদহ জেলার কালীগঞ্জ উপজেলা, পূর্বে আশাশুনি উপজেলা ও সাতক্ষীরা সদর উপজেলা, পশ্চিমে ভারতের পশ্চিমবঙ্গ। দেবহাটা ইছামতি নদীর তীরে অবস্থিত।

প্রায় ১৫০ বছর আগে দেবাটার টাউন শ্রীপুর গ্রামে প্রতিষ্ঠিত হয়েছিল দেবহাটা পৌরসভা। ব্রিটিশ শাসনামলে টাউন শ্রীপুরকে বলা হতো এ আঞ্চলের বধিষ্ণু অঞ্চল। ১৮ জমিদারের বাস ছিল এই গ্রামে। কিন্তু কালের বিবর্তনে সব কিছু হারিয়ে গেছে। ভারত বাংলাদেশের মধ্য দিয়ে বয়ে চলা ইছামতি নদী সাতক্ষীরা উপজেলার সীমান্ত ঘেষা হাড়দ্দার পাশ দিয়ে ছুটে চলেছে বঙ্গোপসাগর অভিমুখে। ব্রিটিশ শাসনামলে এ অঞ্চলে মানুষের আনাগোনা ছিল কলকাতায়। ইছামতি নদীর তীর ঘেষা টাউন শ্রীপুর, সুশীলগাঁতী ও দেবহাটা পাশাপাশি তিনটি গ্রাম। ইছামতির ওপারে ভারতের হাসনাবাদ রেল স্টেশন। যার কারণে ব্রিটিশ শাসনামলে এ অঞ্চলে মানুষের দ্বিতীয় ঠিকানা ছিল কলকাতা। একসময়ের দেবহাটা গ্রাম এখন উপজেলা সদর।
Debhata Upazila is an administrative area under Satkhira District of Bangladesh.
The location of Debhata upazila across the south western edge of Satkhira district. To the north of this upazila is Satkhira Sadar Upazila, to the south is Kaliganj Upazila of Jhenaidah district, to the east is Asashuni Upazila and Satkhira Sadar Upazila, to the west is West Bengal of India. Devhata is located on the banks of Ichamati river.

About 150 years ago Debata Municipality was established in Sreepur Village, Town of Debata. During the British rule, Town Sreepur was called Badishnu region of this region. 18 zamindars lived in this village. But in the evolution of time everything is lost. The Ichamati river flowing through India Bangladesh flows along the border of Satkhira upazila towards the Bay of Bengal. During the British rule, the movement of people in this region was in Calcutta. Ghesha Town Sripur, Sushilganti and Debhata are three villages along the banks of Ichamati river. Hasanabad railway station in India across from Ichamati. Due to which Kolkata was the second address of the people in the region during the British rule. Once Debhata village is now upazila headquarters.
